Abstract

Financial Performance of banks is a key indicator of an economy . Both public and private sector banks perform widely in India. So this research paper compares the performance of top two important banks in India one being a public sector bank State Bank of India (SBI) and another private sector bank HDFC Bank using secondary data for the previous 5 years from annual report. The objectives are to examine and analyze the SBI & HDFC Bank for No. of Branches, No. of ATMs, Deposit, Advance and Non Performing Assets (NPA) (2017-18 to 2021-22) in India. The effect was concluded by financial performance analysis of the SBI & HDFC Bank under number of Branches, No. of ATMs, Deposit, Advance and NPA in India. In these measures of Trend Line Graphs on Progress of SBI are presented below the No. of branches that is positive trend; R-squared value is very low and No. of ATMs has a positive trend; R-squared value is nearest to well growth and HDFC Bank are presented below the No. of branches and No. of ATMs has a positive trend; R-squared value both are nearest to excellent growth. Hence the number of branches & ATMs is high for HDFC Bank as customer services do it well. The following hypothesis is framed and tested with regression analysis on Financial Performance Analysis for highly significant. The RBI guidelines to SBI and HDFC banking sectors are improving on providing loan & advances and proper collection to NPAs. Those banks have a customer base that is medium reflected for NPA. So, reduce & avoid making steps for NPAs in future.
